EMDR/Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy

Two people with their heads resting on each other's shoulders, sitting in an indoor space with a light-colored wall and a window above.

Close-up of shattered glass, with broken pieces and jagged edges.

Trauma can be all-consuming.

How I Can Help

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, often called EMDR therapy, is a powerful, evidence based approach that helps people process and heal from distressing experiences. Instead of just talking through what happened, EMDR works with the brain and body to reprocess memories so they feel less overwhelming and no longer hold the same emotional charge. Many people find that what once felt activating, stuck, or intrusive begins to feel more distant and manageable, allowing for greater ease in daily life and in relationships. Below are a few of the challenges I can help with:

  • EMDR and evidence-based trauma therapies to reduce distressing memories and triggers

  • Trauma-informed care that prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment

  • Specialized support for survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and coercion

  • Healing from shame, self-blame, and complex emotional aftermath

  • Rebuilding a sense of safety in your body and daily life

  • Strengthening boundaries, voice, and personal agency

  • Addressing intimacy challenges and relationship impacts

I accept the following insurance plans:

  • Medical Mutual of Ohio

  • United Healthcare

  • Optum
